TERMS OF USE

Last updated: March 2, 2026

1. Acceptance

By accessing this website or using any software described herein, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use this site or the associated software.

2. Nature of Materials

All software, documentation, diagrams, and other materials on this site are provided for educational, research, and personal use purposes only. They are hobbyist projects under active development and are not intended for production, commercial, or safety-critical applications.

3. Software-Defined Radio Disclaimer

All SDR tools described on this site are receive-only. None of the software transmits on any radio frequency. Receiving broadcast radio signals, time signals, weather alerts, and ADS-B aircraft transponder signals is generally legal for personal use in the United States under FCC Part 15 (receive-only devices are unregulated).

Users are solely responsible for compliance with all applicable local, national, and international laws regarding radio signal reception in their jurisdiction. Some countries restrict the reception or decoding of certain signal types.

4. ADS-B Data

ADS-B aircraft tracking features are provided for personal, non-commercial use. Reception of ADS-B transponder signals is legal under FCC Part 15. Systematic collection, redistribution, or commercial use of aircraft position data may be subject to additional regulations. Users are responsible for compliance with FAA regulations and applicable aviation law.

5. HD Radio / NRSC-5 Implementation

nrsc5-rs is an independent open-source implementation of the NRSC-5 HD Radio standard, derived from the GPL-3.0+ licensed theori-io/nrsc5 project. No proprietary code, trade secrets, or confidential materials were used in its development. The pure Rust HDC audio decoder is a clean implementation for research and educational purposes.

6. AI-Assisted Development

As of February 2026, these projects are developed with AI assistance (Anthropic Claude) as a pair-programming tool. The human developer reviews, tests, and takes responsibility for all committed code. Per-repository changelogs document AI-assisted changes. AI involvement spans architecture discussion, code generation, and test writing, with human oversight at every stage.

7. Veilid / Encrypted Communications

The Veilid messaging integration and any QX9 public safety communication tools referenced on this site are experimental research projects. They are not certified, validated, or approved for use in actual emergency communications, public safety dispatch (P25/LMR), NG911, or any life-safety application. Do not rely on these tools for critical communications.

8. Warranty Disclaimer

ALL SOFTWARE AND MATERIALS ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NONINFRINGEMENT. TEST COUNTS, LINE COUNTS, AND FEATURE DESCRIPTIONS ARE APPROXIMATE AND MAY NOT REFLECT THE LATEST STATE OF DEVELOPMENT.
